How to play Golf Solitaire

Try Golf Solitaire at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Remove all 35 tableau cards. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Read the objective before making your first input. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Seven columns of five, one stock pass. Free solo play, no wagering.

A useful comparison

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your goal

Remove all 35 tableau cards. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Step by step

1. Take an exposed bottom card one rank above or below the waste top, allowing ace–king wrapping.
2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
3. Draw when useful.
4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Use one clear input at a time.

A useful example

Waste queen accepts jack or king. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Notice the change in the playing area.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
