How to play Word Recall

Open Word Recall, check the instructions and begin a round. Identify new and previously seen words before losing three lives. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Included vocabulary and random repeats; a game, not a medical memory assessment.

Build a steady rhythm

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Identify new and previously seen words before losing three lives. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

Step by step

  1. Read each displayed word.
  2. Choose New word or Seen before.
  3. Remember words from this round only.
  4. Three mistakes end the round.

Controls

Click or tap one of the two answer buttons. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

A useful example

PLANT seen earlier in the same round requires Seen before. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Verify the rule before continuing.

Watch out for this

A word from an earlier round does not count as seen now. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
