How to play Pyramid Solitaire
Take a moment with Pyramid Solitaire before moving to another game. Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Use the example below to understand a decision.
Pyramid, stock and waste; one stock recycle. Free solo play, no wagering.
Keep the aim in sight
Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules. Use the example to check your reasoning.
Your goal
Remove all 28 pyramid cards. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Start with a deliberate move.
Step by step
- Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone.
- Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
- Draw when useful.
- Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.
Controls
Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Use the control method described here for this activity. Read the example below alongside these instructions.
A useful example
An exposed queen pairs with an ace; a jack pairs with a 2. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Take a moment to compare.
Watch out for this
Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
